Hong Kong Tourism Board welcomes new arrangements for inbound tour group travellers

The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) on Tuesday, Nov. 29, welcomed the announcement of the specific arrangements for inbound tour groups by the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government last Nov. 18.

The new arrangement now allows inbound tour group visitors to dine in designated areas of restaurants as well as to reduce the times of Covid-19 nucleic acid tests.

“Hong Kong is one of Asia’s most festive destinations in winter. Becoming effective before the travel peak season of Christmas and Chinese New Year, the new arrangements will help bring back short-haul visitors to experience Hong Kong’s seasonal festivity, especially those from Southeast Asia,” said HKTB Chairman Dr Pang Yiu-kai.

“The HKTB will continue to work closely with trade partners in promoting the diverse and exciting activities and experiences in town to attract inbound visitors to the city,” he added.

HKTB Southeast Asia Regional Director Raymond Chan, meanwhile, said they will be rolling out more trade and marketing activities in the upcoming months to welcome Southeast Asian group tours to Hong Kong.”

“We are glad that the announcement of the new travel guidelines has been well received by our Southeast Asian partners and consumers,” said Chan.
