BTS Jungkook’s ‘Dreamers’ becomes first World Cup song to top iTunes; 9-M streams on Spotify 


K-pop idol group BTS member Jungkook’s new single “Dreamers,” the main song in the official soundtrack of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, has garnered achievements.

Jungkook performed “Dreamers” together with Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 opening ceremony on Nov. 20 at Al Bayt Stadium.

The single “Dreamers,” distributed digitally via UnitedMasters, was released on Nov. 20.

After its release, “Dreamers” grabbed the No. 1 spot on iTunes’ Top Songs chart in 102 countries and regions including the US and Japan.

According to UnitedMasters, Jungkook’s “Dreamers” is the first World Cup song ever to hit No. 1 on iTunes, a record breaker for UnitedMasters and the World Cup.

On Spotify, “Dreamers” debuted at No. 2 on the Daily Top Songs Global chart on Nov. 20 with 4,887,791 streams.

“Dreamers ” by Jung Kook, BTS, and FIFA Sound is the highest new entry on Top Songs Global at #2,” according to Spotify Charts.

The song garnered 4,251,968 streams on Nov. 21 for a total two-day stream of 9.13 million.

In addition, the official music video for “Dreamers” was released by FIFA on Nov. 22. In 14 hours, the “Dreamers” MV has garnered 8 million views on YouTube, 1.7 million likes and more than 105,000 comments.

The video of Jungkook’s “Dreamers” performance at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 opening ceremony has accumulated 18.7 million views in two days on YouTube.
