Yuka Saso carded an eagle-aided two-under-par 70 but still finished dead last in the CME Group Tournament Championship in Naples, Florida Sunday, Nov. 20 (Monday in Manila).
Saso shot a bogey-birdie on the fifth and sixth holes before firing an eagle 3 on the 17th to finish with a four-round total of eight-over 296, 25 strokes behind eventual champion Lydia Ko.
The Fil-Japanese struggled in the earlier rounds with 75, 77 and 74.
Saso’s performance tied her at 59th place with Thai Patty Tavatanakit, who had a closing round 71. Both pocketed $40,125 (around P2.2 million).
Ko won the $2 million prize pot (around P114 million) after shooting a second straight 70 for 271, two strokes ahead of Leona Maguire.
Maguire settled for the runner-up honors after an even-par 72 for 273.
