200 Pasay residents receive financial assistance under 'Sari-Saring Pag-asa' program

A total of 200 Pasay City residents received P3,500 financial assistance under the “Sari-Saring Pag-Asa” program on Friday, Nov. 19.

The distribution of financial aid to beneficiaries of the program conceptualized by Senators Allan Peter and Pia Cayetano was held at the Pasay City Astrodome.

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said Rafel Uy, project manager of Sen. Allan, led the distribution of P3,500 cash to each beneficiary.

Rubiano said the beneficiaries of the program were sari-sari store owners who applied at the Mayor’s Office for additional capital in their business.

She said the beneficiaries came from different barangays in the city, most of them lost their jobs during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The mayor added that other beneficiaries were residents who wanted to earn additional income.

Rubiano said the program aims to help the small businesses in the community secure their daily needs.
