Bulacan cops arrest 5 drug suspects, 4 illegal gamblers in anti-crime ops

Five drug suspects and four illegal gamblers were arrested by Bulacan police in a series of operations in the province on Sunday, Nov. 13.

Col. Relly B. Arnedo, Bulacan police director, identified the first arrested drug suspect as Marianito Estariado of Barangay Wakas, Bocaue.

Patrolling Marilao police officers caught Estariado in the act of handing over alleged illegal drugs to his companion in Brgy. Abangan Sur, Marilao, Bulacan.

Police also chased Estariado’s companion who was able to escape.

During the chase, however, one Oliver Pigarido of Barangay Batia, Bocaue was also nabbed after he accidentally bumped and injured one of the police officers running after Estariado’s cohort.

Authorities seized from Estariado two sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less 12.3 grams with an estimated value of P83,640 from Estariado.

Likewise, four more drug individuals were arrested in separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) of Guiguinto, Malolos, Norzagaray, and San Miguel police.

The operations resulted in seizure of a total of 12 sachets of suspected shabu and the buy-bust money.

Meanwhile, an anti-illegal gambling operation conducted by Pandi police resulted in the arrests of Ruel Abaño, Santiago Garmay, Jonathan Partosa, and Ranny Cino, who were caught engaging in “tupada” or illegal cockfighting.

Confiscated during the raid were two game fowls, a gaff, and bet money in different denominations.

Appropriate criminal complaints against the arrested suspects are now being prepared for filing in court.
