In an advisory, PRC said that 384 families from the Municipality of Sipalay received emergency shelter kits worth P9,600 each.

Meanwhile, 130 families from the Municipality of Hinobaan were given P5,000 cash aid.

This initiative was part of PRC's P400-million humanitarian relief operation for Odette victims in partnership with the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, the International Committee of the Red Cross, the Netherlands Red Cross, the German Red Cross, the American Red Cross, the Spanish Red Cross, and the Canadian Red Cross.

"But it doesn’t end here. We continue to help barangays in Negros Occidental by intensifying our Red Cross 143 volunteers, with the goal of building strong communities - with members and leaders who will help and empower each other, especially during disasters," said PRC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon.

He also noted that each community within the country has its strengths and PRC will help them "realize and take ownership of that."

Odette struck the country last December 2021 and since then, PRC said that it has already sent assistance to Southern Leyte, Leyte, Palawan, Negros Oriental, Cebu, Lapu-Lapu City, Bohol, Dinagat Islands, Siargao, Surigao del Norte, and other parts of Negros Occidental.
