Warm, humid weather in Luzon and Visayas due to easterlies

Easterlies or the warm winds from the Pacific Ocean will bring warm and humid weather in Luzon and Visayas over the next 24-hour period, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Saturday, Nov. 12.

PAGASA Weather Specialist Benison Estareja, in a public weather forecast, disclosed that apart from isolated rain showers and localized thunderstorms, a generally fair and humid weather will be experienced in most of Luzon and Visayas.

“Pagsapit ng tanghali ay asahan na ang mainit na temperatura for Metro Manila, as well as Legazpi and Tuguegarao. , may kalamigan pa rin naman dito sa Tagaytay, sa Cordillera region, particularly sa Baguio City (By noon, expect hot temperatures for Metro Manila, as well as Legazpi and Tuguegarao. Meanwhile, it will still be cold in Tagaytay, even in the Cordillera region, particularly in Baguio City),” said Estareja.

Although the effect of intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) has weakened, rains will still prevail over parts of Mindanao, particularly SOCCSKSARGEN, BARMM, Davao Oriental, and the southern portion of Palawan.

Residents of these areas were told to be vigilant against hazards such as flash floods and landslides due to the moderate to heavy rains that the ITCZ may bring.

No weather disturbance, according to Estareja, is expected to develop or enter the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) in the next three days.
