Talisay Mayor Samsam Gullas said on Thursday, Nov. 10, that all barangays must have an e-learning center.

Students can use the centers for free, Gullas said.

Gullas said they have built an e-learning center in Barangay Bulacao. Another center is being constructed in Barangay Tabunok.

He said it is high time to build more e-learning centers as face-to-face classes have resumed.

“Each e-learning center will have computers and internet connection which is the most important,” Gullas said.

Gullas said even the city’s mountain barangays should have e-learning centers.

For now, the city is prioritizing areas with available spaces for e-learning centers.

“What is happening now is that we are looking for areas who have available spaces. So those who have available spaces are being prioritized,” Gullas said.

Gullas said the city is shouldering the expenses for the construction of more e-learning centers but private stakeholders are welcomed to help fund the program.
