LTO personnel deployed in NCR roads for Undas

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has placed all its personnel in Metro Manila under heightened alert status to assist motorists in anticipation of the return of thousands of people who went to the provinces to observe the All Saints and All Souls Days, locally called Undas.

Roque Verzosa III, director of the LTO-National Capital Region West, said their personnel were advised to be present in major entry points of Metro Manila and other thoroughfares to assist motorists as they expect the huge volume of vehicles starting Tuesday, Nov. 1.

"We are expecting the huge volume of vehicles especially starting tonight, (Nov. 1) until early morning of Thursday (Nov. 3) since these are the times when those who went to the provinces would go back to Metro Manila," said Verzosa.

"Our goal is to have smooth traffic flow in coordination with various government agencies that include the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA). So far, we have not received any report of vehicular accident," he added.

Since Oct. 27, Verzosa said they already prohibited their personnel to go on leave in order to ensure the presence of sufficient number of LTO personnel to assist in traffic and road safety measures.

Meanwhile, Versoza said LTO-NCR-West personnel were deployed at the Manila North Cemetery on Monday (Oct. 31) to assist in the flow of traffic within the area as part of Oplan Undas 2022.
