The confectionery wonderland becomes a place full of nightmares with a killer on the loose
After spending Halloween cooped up in our home in the past years, we are definitely in need of major “revenge scaring.” If you and your friends are on the hunt for something to do this spooky season, look no further than The Dessert Museum (TDM) in S Maison Mall, Pasay City.
With its pastel-colored setting and lifesize dessert displays, we bet you’re scratching your head on why we’re recommending this place for Halloween. Well, from Oct. 29 to 31, from 6 p.m. onward, the dessert wonderland will be turned into a grim place. Inside it are eight spine-chilling rooms with a cannibal on the loose.
Before it becomes available to the public, Manila Bulletin Lifestyle got to experience TDM’s Horror Night offering. Believe us when we say that it is one of the perfect activities to do this long Halloween weekend.
Intriguing, that's the first thing we thought off when we saw TDM’s spooky transformation. Its glass doors are curtained and marked with caution tapes warning everyone who wishes to experience its scary offering. Its lobby is dark with only candles illuminating the space. We are welcomed by some familiar faces like Annabelle and Valak at the registration. No worries, they are up for selfies. Lockers will also be provided to participants as they need both their hands in trying to get out of the dark maze.
We’re not going to spoil much of what’s going to happen inside TDM’s horror house, but what we can say is that it is a scare-fest that plays with many of your senses. The terrifying sound effects you hear definitely add another layer of terror to its gory interiors. Friends should band together as actors (who are the museum’s staff) will definitely appear when you least expect it and you wouldn’t want to leave a fellow behind.
The experience can last put to 15 minutes, depending on how fast you get what you need and solve the clue. Part of the thrill is the killer lurking in its dark rooms so don’t get caught.
After successfully making it out of its maze, participants will get desserts, a sweet reward for being brave—or not. All in all, TDM’s Horror Night (priced at P399) is perfect for barkadas looking for a quick thrilling experience. Its confectionery dreamland becoming a world full of nightmares is the very definition of madness.
