29 rescued as fire hits commercial building in QC


At least 29 individuals were rescued by firefighters during a fire that broke out in an eight-storey commercial building at the corner of Scout Tuazon and Scout Rallos Streets in Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City on Wednesday, Oct. 26.

The Quezon City Fire District (QFCD) said the firefighters used a ladder truck to get the individuals who were on the 8th floor of the establishment while the blaze was being extinguished.

The QCFD said that the fire was raised to first alarm at around 10:02 a.m. It was declared under control at around 11:59 a.m. and was extinguished at around 12:04 p.m.

No one was reported injured in the incident.

Probers are yet to determine the cost of damage and the cause of fire which was reported to have started at the mezzanine section of a restaurant in the building.
