A Taguig councilor honored a taxi driver for returning cash to an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who was his passenger.
Councilor Alex Penolio gave one sack of rice to taxi driver Pedro Pacifico of Barangay Upper Bicutan.
Pacifico was recently named by the program “Raffy Tulfo in Action” as one of the awardees of its Gawad Katapatan Batch 82.
According to the program, Pacifico returned a bag containing P198,000 in cash, passport and travel documents to OFW Jun Carlo Apalla who was bound for Australia. He claimed the valuables from the “Wanted sa Radyo” studio.
Penolio praised Pacifico for his good deed.
“Saludo ang inyong lingkod sa kabayanihang ipinamalas ni Pedro Pacifico ng Barangay Upper Bicutan! (I salute the heroism shown by Pedro Pacifico of Barangay Upper Bicutan!),” the councilor posted on Facebook.
He added, “Nawa'y tularan pa siya ng mas marami pang Taguigueño sapagkat proud na proud po ako sa kanyang ipinamalas na kabutihan (I hope more people from Taguig can emulate him because I’m so proud of his good deed).”
