If there’s one thing Filipinos value, it’s making sure we take a good shower in the morning and before we go to bed. And, admittedly, there are mornings when it’s harder to get up, and there are evenings when we’re just too beat from the daily grind.
But taking a shower is a must. When you think about it, it’s actually a welcome respite. A few minutes of alone time while we either prepare in our heads what to do before the day starts or wind down from a day’s work. Whatever it is, it’s this type of self-care that we must never forget to do.
"Showering is so much more than just getting clean. It is a chance to feel rejuvenated, a moment to focus on self-care. A shower should provide a rich experience—through design-forward craftsmanship, meaningful functionality, and uncompromised focus on the user," shares Kohler Vice President of Industrial Design Lun Cheak Tan.
True enough, the recent pandemic has made many realize a lot of things. Self-care and health is of top priorities, which is why companies like American brand Kohler has been working on two complementary collections to aid discerning clients in their personal wellness journey.
Statement Showering Collection
Presented in finishes of polished chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, and modern brass, the Statement Showering range of showerheads can work with any interiors. It comes in seven immersive sprays including deep massage that mimics massaging targeted parts of your body, cloud spray that comes in a warm mist, full coverage rain for all-over experience, ribbon that cascades, and infinity massages which offer three different modes in one go. "To add to the Statement’s overall ease of use and provide peace of mind to designers and specifiers, the components were designed to be universally compatible," explains Kohler Kitchen and Bath Asia Pacific Angel Yang on how this collection can work with any household and establishments all over the world.
Manila Bulletin Lifestyle asked how much time and effort is needed to clean these components, "It's actually very easy to maintain. So what you can do is just use your finger to clean with hot water. You can also run it with steam. You know, once in a while you need to before they start to clog, then it gets tricky," explains the Kohler team.
Anthem Showering Valves and Controls
To make the showering experience a truly immersive one, one has to achieve the right water temperature and even water pressure. Kohler presents the Anthem Showering valves offers two choices: mechanical and digital. Both of which fit the global plumbing standards.
Taking cue from the current premium home furnishings and design aesthetics, these valves are minimalist and sophisticated. The digital valves are touch-sensitive and easy-to-use. With controls up to six outlets, the user can personalize their bath experience with a combination of shower sprays, rainheads, showerheads, hand showers, and body sprays to choose from. One can even save up to 10 presets. This collection comes in polished chrome brushed nickel, matte black and brushed modern brass.
"A really great great shower is based highly on personal preference and should be completely within the control of the user.
