Lindsay Stalzer was dismayed after F2 Logistics dropped its second straight game following a 21-25, 25-22, 20-25, 24-26 loss against Choco Mucho on Thursday night, Oct. 13, at the Philsports Arena in Pasig City.
Minus reliable playmaker in Kim Fajardo, who was then ruled out of the match early in the third period due to an ankle injury, the Cargo Movers were unable to complete their comeback after stealing the second set.
Stalzer, who suited up for the first time after missing the opening game due to health concerns, finished with 26 points in a losing effort.
“I let the team know how upset I am and heartbroken about that. Because it’s serious, we can’t just take these losses lightly. We definitely had every opportunity to win that game and we let it slip through our fingers. So, I let everyone know how that can’t happen and we all need to be accountable for that loss,” said Stalzer.
Up 24-22 in the fourth frame, Stalzer couldn’t help but dwell on their missed opportunity to extend the match into a fifth.
With the first win slipping through their fingers, the American import and captain wants the team to double down on their efforts moving forward.
“We need to really make an effort to improve in the coming weeks cause it’s urgent. We need to get those wins,” added Stalzer.
The Cargo Movers, also sans coach Ramil de Jesus and libero Dawn Macandili due to an undisclosed injury to lift the team, have not found steady footing yet. But the captain is positive that they will join the win column in the next bout against United Auctioneers-Army on Tuesday, Oct. 18.
“My first night with the team, so give us a little leeway to finally . You know we had some good points, we had some really good plays and we’re showing some really impressive talents. So I’m not too worried. But I just know we need to step it up.”
