Sarah Geronimo drops disco-tinged 'Dati Dati'

Fans of Sarah Geronimo are in high spirits with their idol dropping back-to-back releases.

After the performance video for “The Gift,” which also featured her husband Matteo Guidicelli (with songwriter Jim Brickman on piano), Sarah is now out with a new song.

Titled “Dati Dati,” it is her first new original song since 2018's “This 15 Me.”

The new single is described as an “ear-tweaking dance number that is both grooving and club ready.”

SG’s head-bobbing new bop also has a rock edge and features instrumental breaks of punctuated guitar solos and pulsating basslines to add to the heavy throbbing beats. All that and a healthy dose of 70’s disco vibes (with a teasing guitar part that seem to imply the “Stayin’ Alive” riff). Studio sessionist Janno Queyquep played the guitar overdubs, while Karel Honasan laid down the bass parts.

Her label Viva Records is keeping mum, but the latest release could actually be the first of many.

“Dati Dati” is written by Jin Chan and is arranged by Chan and Su Ganade. The track is produced by Ganade and Dylan Graham.

The track is now available for streaming on all digital music platforms.

“Dati Dati” is currently on top of the ‘Pinoy Pop Playlist 2022’ on Spotify.
