Only 30,183 public utility vehicles (PUVs) have so far secured a copy of fare matrix, one of the conditions in the implementation of the fare increase.

For Transportation Network Vehicle Service (TNVS), the LTFRB said there is no need for them to secure fare matrix. The agency said the new fare hike is expected to be shown at the app being used for transportation booking.

LTFRB chairperson Cheloy Garafil earlier advised the public not to pay additional fare if the PUVs have no new fare matrix displayed in a conspicuous place inside the vehicle as she pointed out that such condition is stipulated in the resolution that granted the petition for fare hike.

Based on the LTFRB policy, he first offense for illegal fare increase implementation is P5,000 and P10,000 for second offense.

For the third offense, the penalty is P15,000 and cancellation of Certificate of Public Conveyance (CPC).
