In the local fashion scene, Lucy Torres-Gomez is among the ultimate Filipino style muses. She exudes an unwavering beauty and grace from how she speaks and the way she walks down to the pieces she puts on. And through a chic collection, the actress gives a glimpse of her personal style.
Unveiled during the second day of Bench Fashion Week 2022, Lucy’s collaboration collection with womenswear brand Kashieca is an ode to the woman on the go. Featuring closet staples—eight dresses and eight separates—the collection plays with elegance and ease, balancing aesthetic with practical needs. This is not the first time the actress and mom designed a collection for the brand, and her mission in keeping women feel comfortable in dressing continues with the latest line.
“I have always drawn inspiration from my personal favorites. The things I have in my closet that I have worn for years,” she tells Manila Bulletin Lifestyle.
The goal for the collection is to give Filipinas wardrobe pieces that are fun, stylish, and versatile, something that can easily be included in their closets and be worn from years onward. She achieves just that by creating pieces with fabrics such as cotton, linen, and silk.
Opening her runway show are beautiful frocks in rust and neutral that suit either an exotic destination or an urban setup. Among our favorites are the white pieces, such as the textured top that gives a major Parisian vibe and a halter jumpsuit that is definitely a must-have. Her final look, a black halter dress over a shirt with billowing sleeves, is one of the proofs that this collection is meant for women of all ages—just timeless and sophisticated yet casual.
“I just like them to feel comfortable,” Lucy says. “It’s easy wearing and nothing complicated. I believe that once you put on something, you shouldn’t fidget anymore. That’s why the fit is important, the cut and quality is important.”
