The Fil-Japanese blew hot and cold in the front nine by turning in two birdies against the same amount of bogeys before firing another birdie on the par-3 11th hole.

She finished with a two-round total of 143 after a first-round 73 to barely make the cut by two strokes.

She also trailed solo leader Charley Hull by 12 strokes after the English golfer sizzled with a 64 – the lowest round of the tournament so far – for 131.

Teeing off on the back nine, Hull picked up three birdies before the turn and then added five more down the stretch to take the lead.

The 26-year-old is chasing her second LPGA Tour victory after her maiden win at the 2016 Tour Championship.

Friday's 64 was Hull's fifth straight round in the 60s. She finished tied for fifth at last week's NW Arkansas Championship.

Meanwhile, Bianca Pagdanganan continued her struggle by fumbling with a second straight 75 to miss the cut by five shots.

She has a two-round aggregate of 150.

Pagdanganan had a rollercoaster round where she shot two birdies, four bogeys and a double-bogey on the par-4 16th hole.
