Erik Matti's ecstatic over 'On The Job's' Emmy nomination

Erik Matti's "On The Job" is nominated for the TV Movie/Mini-Series category at the 50th International Emmy Awards.

Erik couldn't be happier, making known how he feels about it in an Instagram post.

He wrote: "Tons of entries make their way to the Emmy’s each year. Great stories and well-made productions waiting to be considered."

"In the age of streaming, the competition is stiff. Who would have thought that a limited series like #OnTheJob from a small country in the Pacific would be recognized alongside some big titles from the UK, Chile and France?"

"It is our honor, Emmy’s. Congratulations, Pinas!"

"On The Job" is a six-part miniseries created by Erik and Michiko Yamamoto for HBO Asia Originals.

It was adapted from the two "On the Job" films: the 2013 film of the same title and its sequel "The Missing 8," both of which are directed by Erik.

Additionally, the first two episodes of the series are actually re-edited and remastered version of the first film.

The series is competing against United Kingdom's "Help," France's "Il Est Elle ," and Chile's "La Historia Íntima De La Escritora Isabel Allende ."

Winners will be announced Nov. 21 in New York City.
