Batangas police conduct probe on Cuenca town kidnapping

BATANGAS -- The Cuenca police are getting into the bottom of a kidnapping incident on Sept. 26 involving a married man who was arrested in 2015 on drug offense but was released on bail.

The Cuenca police identified the victim as Remdzen Sison, married and a resident of Barangay Poblacion 1, in Cuenca.

According to the investigation, while Sison was walking, four suspects on board in a white van suddenly appeared, forced and dragged him inside the vehicle. Thereafter, the suspects immediately fled to the direction of Brgy. Natunuan, San Jose, Batangas.

The incident happened on Sept. 26.

A review of the CCTV footage along the area of San Jose, Batangas and other business establishments is still going on, the report said.

Based on the record of Cuenca Philippine National Police, Sison was arrested on December 6, 2015 for violation of section 11 of R.A. 9165 and was released on bail on December 21, 2015.

The police investigators are requesting verification from Land Transportation Office (LTO) the owner of the alleged white van with plate number CTK 692 which they said could be the possible plate number of vehicles involved in the kidnapping incident.

Motive behind the incident is still undetermined.

“Batangas PPO is available to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of those responsible for violent crimes being investigated by this office,” said Col. Pedro Soliba, Batangas Police provincial director.
