K-pop boy band EXO member Chanyeol has completed his mandatory military service after 18 months.
Chanyeol, 29, was discharged from the Korean army on Sept. 28. He enlisted in the military on March 29 last year and served in the army’s 9th Infantry Division.
He is the fifth member of EXO who has completed military service after Xiumin, D.O., Suho and Chen.
During his military service, Chanyeol starred in the military musical “The Meisa’s Song.”
After completing his basic military training last year, Chanyeol was given an exemplary award for performing “the duties assigned to him with dedication and service to his country, especially during the 21-6 recruit education and training, the spirit of sacrifice and service he has shown has set an example for others, hence, this certificate is awarded to him,” according to a Twitter account.
EXO’s Baekhyun is currently fulfilling his military service. He enlisted in the military in May last year.
All Korean men are required under the law to undergo military service.
