AWARD-winning singer-songwriter and producer Quest teamed up with equally talented John Roa for their latest collab single "Infinity". According to them, the song released under Warner Music Philippines had been in the works since 2018.

John Roa and Quest announced the arrival of their new song in August, together with the release of "Infinity"'s official lyric video. The record was written by both Roa and Quest, and mixed and mastered by Thyro Alfaro. On "Infinity"’s songwriting and recording process, Quest described it as ‘very organic’. "We've been planning this collaboration for years already (since 2018). Then just last year, John invited me to chill at his place then on the spot we decided to work on the collaboration. We finished writing it in three days after we worked on the music."

"The song inspiration started with the feel of the beat," John explained. "Then, Kuya Jose made the perfect hook for the song. After that, we met again at my studio and finished the songwriting and recording in one session”. We just fed off each other’s creative ideas and melody structures so it was just really a fun and free-flowing process.

"We wanted to write a song about how love can more than be just a feeling that we have for the ones we love. It’s more about the sacrifices and the lengths that we are willing to do for love. And of course to also remind people of the most important love of all, the love of our savior that sacrificed his life for us who he loves so much, a love that is immeasurable and endless," John said. To which Quest added, "It's a message of enduring love. In a society that waters down love and treats it as disposable, I want to be able to empower people to find the love that is worth fighting for, a love that will last forever."

"Infinity" is such a beautiful, sweet anthem that people need to hear to recognize the world-class talent of John Roa and Quest. At the same time, it also reminds us to remember the value of commitment and love. When asked about how the track represents them as artists, John replied, "For me, Infinity represents my love for my soon-to-be wife that I chose and will continue to choose loving for the rest of my days. Yes, life may have an end point, but being true and loyal to the person that God placed in your life is also a sign of an infinite love."

For Quest, "It represents so much of who we are as humans, longing for a love that will last forever. As artists it represents the quality of music that we make. We always aim for excellence."

"Infinity" follows Quest's recently released Permanente EP and John Roa's remix project with Jarlo Bâse's "Kalapati". On what their key takeaways are from creating the track, Quest said, "Finding the right collaboration can make your music-making process more efficient and effective. The entire process is memorable. Seeing John evolve as a producer and a songwriter. It's such a treat for me to be able to work with him. His excitement and courage to create inspires me."

"I just think that me and Kuya Jose had grown and learned so much over the past few years," John
elaborated. "I also appreciated the fact that in life, everything has its purpose and right time. Just like this song. It wasn’t meant to happen before because it was prepared for this season--when both of us are in a place where we can say that our love for our craft and the message that we want to send to the world is something I know we will continue doing for the rest of our lives."

There's so much going on globally and in the Philippines this year. When asked what it was like to release "Infinity" during this time, John shared, “No pressure really, as much as we want to push this song to its full potential, we have trust and faith that this song has its purpose. Music for me isn’t just all about going viral. It’s great to have a #1 song, who wouldn’t like that? But what has our craft contributed to this new world’s perception about life and love? Hitting the charts is great, but touching hearts is amazing.”

The two prolific artists are known for having total creative control over their music. In their years in the music industry, Quest and John Roa both agreed that there's really not much of a struggle to get that freedom to create.

"NEVER," Quest declared. "I never force things. I'm always open to learning and experiencing new things. I value relationships and their stories. I'm always on the lookout for inspiration, and inspiration is EVERYWHERE." John also shared, "I think I can say it isn’t really about the struggle of freedom to create. It’s more about challenging and asking myself, what do I need to do or learn for my music to grow and evolve. It’s very stressful at first, but once you get the right amount of confidence and mindset, things will start to flow."

On the ultimate goals that they'd like to achieve in their respective careers, both talked about expanding their reach. John said, "For me I just wanna keep creating. I wanna continue to expand my sound and versatility when it comes to making music, and one day, hopefully I could reach out to a wider audience with it, specifically the international market."

Quest also talked about widening his reach, "For me, just to keep expanding my reach. I would love for
more people, not just in the Philippines to experience my music. I also want to start mentoring young artists and guide them along the way."
