A food exhibit dubbed “Pagkaon sa MisOr (Food in Misamis Oriental) Unlimited” started Monday, Sept. 26, at the activity center of a mall here and will end on Sept. 28.

The exhibit showcasing various delicacies from different towns and cities seeks to boost food tourism and promote food products that would also help the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), as well as the agriculture sector, in recovering from the economic impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“If we are all aware, the priority programs of Gov. Peter Unabia include agriculture and tourism. And it is appropriate for us to highlight these important sectors as we celebrate the National Tourism Week,” said Misamis Oriental provincial tourism officer Atty. Jeffrey Saclot during the flag-raising ceremony at the provincial capitol on Monday, Sept. 26.

Saclot urged the people to support local food producers by visiting the event and purchasing their products.

The PTO is holding the “Pasundayag sa MisOr” contest featuring various festivals from different towns and cities.

The first day of the competition was held on Monday for LGUs from the first district. On Tuesday, Sept. 27, contestants from the second district will compete.

The search for the Misamis Oriental Singing Ambassador will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 28.

“Hopefully, with the search of Misamis Oriental singing ambassador, we will have a new set of singers from the province that we can be proud of and we can send to the national singing competitions,” Saclot said.
