3-year-old girl dies after being hit by SUV in Parañaque


A three-year-old girl died after being hit by a sports utility vehicle (SUV) in Parañaque on Sept. 20, police reported Monday, Sept. 26.

Col. Renato Ocampo, city police chief, identified the victim as Rheymarie Joy Sampang, a resident of Area 1 Bodoni, Fourth Estate, Brgy. San Antonio, Parañaque City.

Ocampo said the SUV driver, identified as Rodolfo Codiamat, 68, of Reymond Village, Parañaque City, is now under police custody and was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.

Police report showed the incident happened around 5 p.m. at the corner of Bodini and Extra Streets at Fourth Estate, Brgy. San Antonio, Parañaque City.

Ocampo said Codiamat’s Toyota Fortuner with plate number NCV 4752 was travelling along Bodoni St. when it hit the victim upon reaching Extra St.

The city police chief said the victim was rushed by Codiamat to Parañaque Medical Center Hospital, but she was declared dead by the attending physician at 6 p.m.
