110 families evacuated in Kawit, Cavite due to 'Karding'


KAWIT, Cavite – The local government unit here evacuated 110 families as Typhoon Karding barreled into the country on Sunday, Sept. 25.

According to a Facebook update from Mayor Angelo G. Aguinaldo on Monday, Sept. 26, 85 families or 344 individuals are staying in Binakayan National High School as of 9:29 p.m. on Sept. 25.

Ten families were evacuated in Kaingen Barangay Center and three families were taken to Aplaya Multipurpose Hall.

JTA Isabel Multipurpose Hall and Gahak Barangay Hall took in five families each, while Potol Barangay Hall and Batong Dalig Barangay Hall housed one family each for the night.

Aguinaldo reminded residents of the coastal municipality to remain at home for their own safety and coordinate with barangay officials should they need to evacuate.
