SM malls in Rizal Province offer temporary shelter, other services on Sept. 25

Four major malls of SM Supermalls in Rizal Province announced they are offering temporary shelter, free Wi-Fi, free charging of gadgets and have waived overnight parking fees to all those seeking shelter in the malls on Sunday, Sept. 25.

These malls include SM City Masinag and SM Cherry-Antipolo, both in Antipolo City, and SM City San Mateo in San Mateo, Rizal and SM Center-Angono in Angono, Rizal.

In their respective posts on Facebook, they said they welcome those in the nearby areas who would want to seek quick shelter in their premises as the province is being battered by Super Typhoon Karding.

SM City Masinag and SM City San Mateo have also announced that the malls will close at 9 p.m. but the supermarkets “will remain open to serve as many customers”, the posts stated.

Help desks will also assist the public for their concerns according to the four malls of SM Supermalls in Rizal Province.

Charges for overnight parking are also waived for September 25 as announced by SM Supermalls in the province.

As of 5 p.m., San Mateo and Antipolo City -- where the two SM malls are located -- as well as Tanay and Baras are under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 4. based on the weather bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

PAGASA raised the TCWS in Rodriguez, Rizal to 5.
