DOH cites NCR cities for best practices in vaccination


The Department of Health (DOH) cited 17 local government units in the National Capital Region (NCR) for their Covid-19 response and vaccination best practices for the month of August.

Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city government conducted simultaneous vaccination against the Covid-19 in the city’s public markets.

Rubiano said the simultaneous vaccination at the city’s public markets was conducted in accordance with the PinasLakas campaign of the DOH as ordered by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.

She said market vendors, workers, including market-goers were encouraged to get the jab against the disease.

The mayor said the simultaneous vaccination drive at the city’s public market was conducted on Aug. 30 from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

In Parañaque, the Ospital ng Parañaque (OSPAR) provided free RT-PCR and antigen testing to pregnant women, patients for admission and surgery, relatives of patients for confinement, those experiencing symptoms, and close contacts of confirmed Covid-19 cases.

Mayor Eric Olivarez said the hospital conducts the services from Monday to Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Olivarez said the result will be known after two days.

In Las Piñas, Mayor Imelda Aguilar said the city government launched a back-to-school vaccination booster drive before the opening of the school year.

Aguilar said the activity was made at the Las Piñas City School Division Office in coordination with the DOH.

She said the drive was made to prepare the students and ensure they will be safe from the disease with the resumption of face-to-face classes.

The mayor said the drive is also part of her administration’s Tuloy and Tapat at Progresibong Serbisyo.

The other local government units named by the DOH for their Covid-19 response and vaccination best practices for the month of August were Malabon, Caloocan, Valenzuela, Manila, Pasig, Pateros, Marikina,Taguig, Makati, Mandaluyong,Quezon City, San Juan, Pasig, and Navotas.
