NCR LGUs record most number of Covid-19 cases in PH in single day


Local government units (LGUs) in the National Capital Region (NCR) recorded the highest number of new Covid-19 cases in a single day.

Dr. Guido David of OCTA Research released the daily Covid-19 data for new Covid-19 cases for Sept. 19 based on numbers extracted from the Department of Health (DOH).

Among all highly urbanized cities and independent component cities in the country, Quezon City recorded the highest tally of new Covid-19 cases for Sept. 19 with 314.

Manila placed second with 170 new Covid-19 cases followed by Pasig, 124; Taguig, 114; and Makati, 106.

Placing sixth to 14th are Paranaque with 88 new Covid-19 cases followed by Caloocan, 72; Las Pinas, 68; Mandaluyong, 66; Marikina, 59; Muntinlupa, 47; Valenzuela, 45; Pasay, 42; and Davao City, 29.

According to Guido, the NCR recorded 1,374 new Covid-19 cases on Sept. 19, the highest among regions, followed by Cavite, 203; Rizal, 161; Bulacan, 121; and Tarlac, 95.

The DOH reported on Sept. 19 that the Philippines tallied 14,707 new cases from Sept. 12 to 18, or an average of 2,101 cases per day, four percent lower compared to data from Sept. 5 to 11.

Severe cases for the period totaled seven while 248 deaths were verified in the past week including 34 deaths from Sept. 5 to 18.
