Over P330,000 worth illegal drugs seized from 12 suspects in QC buy-busts


Members of the Quezon City Police Distict (QCPD) seized a total of P332,136 worth of alleged illegal drugs and arrested 12 suspects in six different buy-bust operations in the city on Saturday, Sept. 17, and Sunday, Sept. 18.

The QCPD Holy Spirit Station (PS 14) arrested two suspects, identified as Jerry Lagnason, 48, and John Daniel Papa, 22, both residents of Quezon City in a buy-bust operation in a house on Diego Silang Street, Brgy. Pasong Tamo in the city.

According to the police report, PS 14 pesonnel launched the entrapment against the suspects at around 11:20 p.m. on Saturday and recovered six sachets of alleged shabu worth P204,000, a brown coin purse, and the buy bust money.

Another buy-bust operation held by the QCPD Novaliches Station (PS 4) along Magat Street, Brgy. Sauyo, Novaliches on the same day resulted to the confiscation of P60,000 worth of alleged marijuana from one suspect.

Lt. Col. Von June Nuyda, PS 4 commander, identified the suspect as King Angelo Lauron, 22, from Brgy. 163, Caloocan City, who was arrested at around 3 pm.

Police also recovered a cellphone, and the buy-bust money from Lauron.

Operatives from the Fairview Station (PS 5) also arrested three drug suspects - John Ryu Bataller, 34, listed as the No. 4 station-level drug personality; Jeffrey Ramirez, 39, both from Quezon City; and Angela Carabaca; 39, from Caloocan City - in a buy-bust operation along J. Abad Santos Street, Brgy. Sta. Lucia at around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Seized from the suspects were two and a half grams of “shabu” worth P17,000, a black pouch, the buy-bust money and a cellphone.

Meanwhile, the Payatas Bagong Silangan Station (PS 13) seized P30,600 worth of alleged shabu from two suspects in a house in Lupang Pangako, Brgy. Payatas B at around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.

The PS 13 identified the suspects as Arwin Nicole Resterio, 40, and Emer Bernal, both the said barangay.

Three more suspects were arrested by members the Pasong Putik Proper Station (PS 16) in a buy-bust operation in Barnagay Sta. Monica, Novaliches at around 9:30 p.m. on the same day.

Lt. Col. Vicente Bumalay Jr. identfied the suspects as Basilio Delima, 53; Eddie Serioso, 40, and Francis Almogera, 29; all residents of the said barangay, who surrendered P20,400 worth of “shabu,” a black coin purse, and a cellphone.

The Anonas Police Station (PS 9) also collared Bernard Balleras, 26, a resident of Barangay UP Campus, in Quezon City after he yielded a sachet of alleged shabu worth P136 along C.P. Garcia Street, in the said barangay at 5 a.m. on Sunday, Sept.18.

All the suspects will be charged for violations of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, police said.
