The PCG identified the fisherman as Feb Cayao, 48, married, of P- 5, Brgy. Asia, Hinoba-an.

Cayao was found approximately three kilometers away from the shoreline of Hinoba-an around 6:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, by members of the PCG Sub-Station Hinoba-an, Philippine National Police — Maritime Group (PNP-MG), and Bantay Dagat Hinoba-an.

Accordingly, Cayao went on a fishing venture last Sept. 13 but failed to get home because his motorbanca, marked as "Ken 28", encountered engine trouble.

The fisherman said that he tied his motorized banca on a buoy at sea waters of Brgy. Asia while he was fishing when a huge wave suddenly hit the vessel and damaged its engine.

The sea borne search and rescue (SAR) team then looked for the missing fisherman upon the request of his family until he was found.

"The SAR team also towed the distressed motorbanca to the nearest shoreline," the PCG said.
