‘Habagat’ rains persist in western parts of S. Luzon; rest of PH to have fair weather

(MANILA BULLETIN)

The southwest monsoon or “habagat” may continue to bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over the western parts of Southern Luzon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, Sept. 18.

PAGASA warned against possible flash floods or landslides during moderate to heavy rains in Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and the northern portion of Palawan and Kalayaan Islands.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

The public is also advised to stay vigilant against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Weather specialist Grace Castañeda said PAGASA has not monitored a weather disturbance within the Philippine area of responsibility that may have a direct effect on the country in the next few days.
