The scheduled arraignment at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (QCRTC) Branch 98 on Friday, Sept. 16 of the suspect in the shooting of former Lamitan City Mayor Rosita Furigay, Dr. Chao Tiao Yumol, on Friday, Sept. 16 has been postponed for the second time.

Yumol was the suspect in the shooting rampage last July 24 at the Ateneo de Manila University that resulted in the killing former Mayor Furigay and two others.

Yumol's previous arraignment which was scheduled last Aug. 4 was also postponed after his lawyers claimed that Yumol showed signs of mental disorder and requested the QCRTC to allow him to undergo an immediate mental status examination.

According to a DZBB Super Radyo report, the arraignment was again postponed because Yumol's medical examination for insanity has not yet been completed.

Yumol was scheduled to undergo the examination three times at the National Center for Mental Health which started in August and will be completed in October.

The court has set the arraignment on Nov. 11, at 8 a.m.

The scheduled arraignment will be for the charges of three counts of murder for the death of Furigay; her aide Victor Capistrano; and ADMU security guard Jeneven Bandiala, and one count of frustrated murder for the injuries sustained by Furigay's daughter, Hannah Rose Marian Furigay.

The suspect was also charged with illegal possession of firearms and malicious mischief, to which he pleaded "not guilty" last Aug. 2.

The charges were filed by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) last July 25.
