Kyletzy, Super Marco lead Bren's reverse sweep of Onic

Michael Angelo “Kyletzy” Sayson and Marco “Super Marco” Requitano took turns in lifting Bren Esports past Onic Philippines, 2-1, to extend their winning run to three in the MPL Philippines Season 10 at the ICITE Auditorium in Libis, Quezon City on Saturday, Sept. 10.

The M2 World Champions bucked an opening game hiccup before Kyletzy and Super Marco stepped up in Games 2 or 3 to pull off the reverse sweep that hiked their record to an even 5-5 tally, good for 12 points at the sixth spot of the standings.

After getting caught in a massive team-fight oriented series opener that favored the rookie-laden Hedgehogs, Bren went back to its objective-centric play in Game 2, focusing on securing the major objectives for their core heroes and taking down enemies towers while also denying Onic players their access to their own resources.

The ploy worked wonders as Bren scored a low scoring 5-1 win in Game 2 to equalize the series. Kyletzy took the better of his jungle matchup against Sensui in that game finishing with a 2-1-3 KDA helping Bren finish with a huge 15K gold lead at the end of the contest.

Sticking to the positives of Game 2 win, Bren put up another textbook performance in controlling the game economy with Kyletzy running wild on his signature Lancelot pick to finish with a neatv 3-0-3 KDA while Super Marco had his fair share of the spotlight with a 2-0-4 line on his Claude pick.

Always an item ahead of Onic, the two were at the forefront everytime the Hedgehogs tried to force an engagement, easily punishing their opponents frontlines to score a 7-3 series clinching win.

Onic on the other hand dropped to a 5-3 record in the standings, although still good for the third seed. The Hedgehogs however couldn’t repeat their 2-1 victory against Bren in the opening week of the season, failing to capitalize from a rousing 17-11 win in Game 1.
