Police seize P81,000 worth of shabu, loose guns, ammos in Negros raid; target suspect escapes


BACOLOD CITY -- About 12 grams of shabu worth P81,600, loose firearms, and several ammunition were found in a house of an alleged drug personality during a police raid in Barangay Poblacion 1, Sagay City, Negros Occidental on Monday, Sept. 5.

However, the target drug personality identified as Jojit Fernandez, 47, was able to escape after sensing the presence of police operatives in the area.

Aside from being included in the priority target-list of police in illegal drugs, Maj. Roberto Indiape Jr., chief of Sagay police, said they raided Fernandez’s house following reports of his alleged possession of unlicensed firearms.

Indiape also said that Fernandez’s name floated as the alleged distributor of illegal drugs in the city.

Indiape said that Fernandez transacts with his clients through a cellular phone and gives the item through his runner.

Aside from illegal drugs, police also found from the suspect’s house a .45 caliber pistol, homemade .38 caliber revolver, .22 caliber revolver, three magazines and 19 ammunition for .45 caliber pistol, 10 ammunition for .22 caliber revolver, two ammunition for .38 caliber revolver, and drug paraphernalia.
