CEU senior and junior students join traditional Sampaguita interlude

For the second year, Centro Escolar University recently held its virtual ceremonies for its Sampaguita Interlude for CEU Manila, Makati, and Malolos, a few days before the commencement exercises.

Significant part of the ceremony is the senior students hand over Sampaguita garlands to their junior partners symbolizing the transfer of responsibility to the incoming graduating students, likewise resonating the spirit and purpose of the tradition.

There is no other flower like the Sampaguita that can best represent this tradition as it symbolizes an ideal Filipino and an ideal Escolarian “who are modest like the spotless whiteness of its petals; loyal and sincere like the flower’s lingering sweetness and fragrance; and firm and courageous, like its green stalks and sturdy sepals."

With the CEU Singers singing the iconic Sampaguita Interlude playlist, video of the previous in-person interlude with Escolarians assembling into beautiful flower formations at the CEU North Quadrangle was shown.
