Bren Esports thumps NXPE for second straight win

Bren Esports notched its first back-to-back wins of the season while also adding to the woes of Nexplay Evos with a clean 2-0 sweep in the MPL Philippines Season 10 at the ICITE Auditorium in Libis, Quezon City.

Riding the momentum of its stunning sweep of Omega the day before, Bren put up a masterful performance to frustrate NXPE and improve to a 3-4 record which was good for the fifth spot in the standings.

In both games, Bren worked on its winning conditions, enduring the early aggression from the Tigers led by the debuting roamer Renejay “RENEJAY” Barcase.

RENEJAY provided the setups with his signature Chou pick as NXPE controlled the early game after getting the better of Bren in the skirmishes around the map. NXPE, though, failed to convert any of those team fight wins into objective takes, allowing Marco “Super Marco” Requitano on the Beatrix and Michael Angelo “Kyletzy” Sayson on the Julian to get the space they needed to farm.

Super Marco finished with a 4-2-1 KDA while Kyletzy continued to impress with a 2-2-6 line as Bren came out on top despite the 9-9 tally in the series opener.

Adjusting to its mistakes in the opening game, NXPE focused on taking objectives as John Paul “H2wo” Salonga on the Akai and RENEJAY on the tank Chou put on the pressure on Kyletzy’s Benedetta. NXPE also made a conscious effort on shutting down Super Marco’s Beatrix in the early game.

Bren, however, managed to drag the match to the late game and waited for their four scaling heroes in Angelo “Pheww” Arcangel’s Cecilion and Vincent “Pandora” Unigo’s Phoveus. A clash for the Luminous Lord spelled the difference for Bren as it completed an 11-11 come-from behind win.

Pheww displayed the veteran poise for his young crew finishing with a 5-1-4 line while Kyletzy, although struggling with his farm, unloaded a clean 1-0-7 line.
