Former "Pinoy Big Brother" housemate Alyssa Valdez has revealed that she's recovering from dengue.

"I am on the road to a full recovery," Alyssa wrote on social media.

Alyssa said that a few days ago, she was supposed to go to Germany to attend an event for Allianz, then play for the AVC afterward. Unfortunately, she tested positive for dengue.

The popular athlete shared that the first few days of having dengue were "so bad," where she had a high fever, body pain, and headache.

In fact, she wasn't able to eat or drink anything.

Thankfully after six days, her fever went down.

But her platelet count continued to drop dangerously to 37, she added.

"I then experienced some complications like bleeding and a swollen liver," Alyssa revealed. "It was at this point that my doctors decided to admit me in the hospital with some initial discussions of a blood transfusion."

She related that her first few hours in the hospital were "very crucial."

"Waited for all the lab results and thankfully my doctors decided not to push through with the transfusion. Thank God everything slowly got better! I’ll also have my last few lab test soon too. I am on the road to a full recovery. Thank you for all the prayers."

The volleyball player then expressed gratitude to her family for taking good care of her.

"I am also glad to have my @allianzpnblifeofficial family beside me. I didn't have to worry about anything because they’ve covered everything! Truly, i have confidence in tomorrow. Pls do take care everyone and I'll see you all soon."
