Angeles met with US Embassy Press Attaché Kanishka Gangopadhyay, a veteran foreign service officer and advisor from the US, and Camille Conde, the new Press and Media specialist of the US Embassy's Public Affairs Section, on Thursday, Aug. 25.

The Press Secretary said they discussed ways to further strengthen the relationships of the Philippines and the US, as well as possible partnership in their public information and communications campaign.

"Nagpaabot din ng intensyon ang embahada kung ano ang maaari nilang maitulong sa Office of the Press Secretary at sa ating attached agencies (The US Embassy also expressed their intention to help the Office of the Press Secretary and its attached agencies in areas that need assistance)," Angeles said.

The Palace official said this is not the only meeting her office will engage in, noting that meeting with her counterparts in the field of public information will both help the country and its international ties with other nations.

"Magkakaroon pa tayo ng mga ganitong pagkakataon dahil hindi lang sa sambayanang Pilipino nakararating ang mga tamang impormasyon ukol sa mga programa at inisyatibo ng ating pamahalaan, kundi pati na rin sa diplomatic at international community (We will have more of such opportunity because it's not only Filipinos who would get the right information on programs and initiatives of our government, but also the diplomatic and international community)," Angeles said.
