CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga — Around 21 members of the Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid (LMB) have cut ties with the Alyansang Magbubukid sa Gitnang Luzon (AMGL) under the Kilusan ng Magsasaka ng Pilipinas (KMP), a group identified as a front of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA).

This was announced on Friday, Aug. 19, by Police Regional Office 3 Regional Director Police Brigadier General Cesar Pasiwen.

The LMB members made the voluntary surrender on Aug. 19 at Guimba, Nueva Ecija behind the joint effort of the 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO), the Philippine National Police and the Philippine Army

The PNP and the PA are working to encourage more groups identified with the Communists to surrender.

PBGEN Pasiwen is optimistic that more groups will follow these farmers.

Pasiwen at the same time has reminded all sectors of the society to be cautious of organizations linked with the communist terrorist group as their strategy and deceptive nature will infiltrate and destroy them.
