K-pop girl group BLACKPINK’s second studio album has garnered 1.5 million copies in pre-orders nearly a month before its release.

This was announced by YG Entertainment, BLACKPINK’s agency, which predicted that sales could reach up to three million copies when the album is released on Sept. 16.

“We’re expecting the best record as a K-pop girl group. Considering how there’s still a month left until the release of the full album (September 16th), reaching 2 million or even 3 million in album sales is achievable,” YG Entertainment said on Aug. 18, according to the YG blog.

Ahead of the album’s release, BLACKPINK will drop the single “Pink Venom” at 1 p.m. KST on Aug. 19.

To mark the song’s release, a “Light Up The Pink” campaign was rolled out in Seoul at 8 p.m. KST on Aug. 18. This will be followed by Tokyo, Shanghai, Bangkok, New York and Los Angeles.

MTV announced that BLACKPINK will perform “Pink Venom” at the MTV Music Video Awards (VMAs), which will be held on Aug. 28 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

They will also kick off their world tour in October in North America, Europe, Asia and Oceania.
