CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela – The Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) has recommended the need to strengthen the vaccination and booster shots campaign in the face of the rising number of active Covid-19 cases in Isabela province.
As of Wednesday, Aug. 17, the province has 420 active cases, including 44 new cases with two new deaths, said King Alabon of the IPHO.
Alabon relayed the data during the third quarter regular business meeting of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) on Wednesday at the Provincial Capitol Amphitheater in Alibagu.
There was no case of monkeypox recorded in the province, but the IPHO added the number of dengue cases from the period Jan. 1 to Aug. 12 rose to 3505, with five fatalities.
The provincial government has been implementing a clean-up drive dubbed ‘Todas Dengue, Todo na to’ to prevent further spread of dengue in the province.
It has facilitated the conduct of fogging and spraying in the communities to scuttle the mosquitoes from their breeding ground.
