The groundbreaking ceremony was held in Barangay San Nicolas and was led by Mayor Matt Erwin Florido, DA acting regional executive director Engr. Abelardo Bragas, National Livestock program director Dr. Jerome Cuasay, Rolando Cuasay of the Association of Public-Safety Communication Official-Quezon, and the Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Laica Batariano.

Florido requested the project to the DA-Calabarzon for the farmer’s group in Barangay San Nicolas – the Grupong Magsasaka ng San Nicolas (GSMN).

Florido said that the P5.5-milion project will enable members to earn a large income.

GSMN president Joseph Hutalla and barangay chairman Solito Dimayuga thanked the officials for the project.

The facility will help prevent contamination, particularly ASF. It has a climate-controlled animal house, waste management, basic farm equipment, feed storage, and a shower room.

The project will support the recovery of the swine industry here which was badly affected by ASF, according to officials.
