“Spider-Man: No Way Home” star Tom Holland has revealed that he is taking a step back from social media which he found “overstimulating” and “overwhelming.”

Tom, 26, made the announcement on Instagram.

“I’ve taken a break from social media for my mental health because I find Instagram and Twitter to be overstimulating, to be overwhelming.

“I get caught up and I spiral when I read things about me online and ultimately, it’s very detrimental to my mental state. So I decided to take a step back and delete the app,” said Tom.

Aside from his announcement, Tom also took the time to include an educational charity called “Stem4” which creates applications to help young people to manage their mental health.

“There is an awful stigma against mental health and I know that asking for help and seeking help isn’t something that we should be ashamed of but it is something that is much easier said than done,” he shared.

Tom said that he has tried all four apps in the program and they have been “fantastic” and “really helpful.”

At the end of the video, Tom said he was going “to disappear from Instagram again.”

“To everyone out there, Thank you for your love and support. I love you all, and I’ll speak to you soon,” he added.
