The Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) arrested Jonalyn Bugalon alias ‘Mommy Jing,’ 49, of Barangay Hilamonan, alleged leader of Bugalon Drug Group, and her runner identified as Juanito Artisano Jr., 54, of Himamaylan City, a beautician.

Police seized from them 130 grams of shabu worth P884,000 which were believed to be sourced out outside the province.

Bugalon is considered a high value individual, while Artisano is a street level individual, according to the PDEU.

It took several months for the police operatives to find a way to transact with Bugalon, who did not usually entertain any clients if she didn't know them.

According to the PDEU, they have been monitoring Bugalon for so long. In fact, they even received information that she was hiding in Iloilo, until they were able to locate her in Kabankalan City.

Following her arrest, the PDEU said that it has a significant effect in the supply of illegal drugs in the province.

Despite her arrest, the PDEU said they could not consider the drug group dismantled as the extent of its network might be far-reaching.

Bugalon drug group is one of the existing drug groups with the most number of members in the province, and usually exists in the fifth and sixth districts, according to the PDEU.

The PDEU said they will exert more effort to hunt down the members of the group.
