BACOLOD CITY — A former policeman who yielded P40,800 worth of shabu was arrested during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Lantad, Silay City, Negros Occidental on Monday, August 15.

Arrested was former SPO1 Julius Octavio, 63, of Barangay Lantad, who was dismissed from the police service after he had gone absent without official leave (Awol) in 1998, according to Police Lt. Col. Mark Anthony Darroca, Silay City police chief.

Darroca said that Octavio was included in the drugs watch list and considered a high value individual.

He was also arrested for a drug offense in 2015 and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in 2019, Darroca said.

However, Octavio was released from jail after he posted bail for his two offenses, Darroca added.

Meanwhile, police operatives also confiscated 15 grams of shabu worth P102,000 from two persons in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 14, Victorias City, on that same day.
