Aaron Paul Miral, 29, a seaman, was the subject of a medical evacuation (medevac) by members of the PCG District North Eastern Luzon from MV Neptune Barcelona while they were sailing in the vicinity waters in Barangay San Vicente.

According to the PCG, Miral sustained a wound on his left foot while onboard the vehicles carrier which currently sails under the flag of Marshall Islands.

Eventually, Miral's wound worsened after it got infected, making him unable to walk and work.

This prompted other crew members of the vessel to seek help from the PCG.

Miral was eventually ferried through a boat and to an ambulance that brought him to a hospital where he received appropriate medical assistance, the PCG said.
