In a Facebook post, Biazon said he woke up with a cold, sore throat, and low-grade fever.

“Paggising ko ngayong umaga, mayroon akong sipon, konting pangangati ng lalamunan at low-grade fever (When I woke up this morning, I had a cold, slight scratchy throat, and low-grade fever),” he said.

While I became busy with my schedule these past few weeks since I became Mayor, thinking that this was due to tiredness, I decided to undergo a test again for Covid-19 due to the growing number of cases. (I also underwent testing on Aug. 11, Thursday and the result came out negative).”

“Lumabas na Covid positive ako. Maliban sa nasabing mild symptoms, maayos naman ang aking kalagayan (It came out that I am Covid positive. Aside from mild symptoms, my condition is good),” Biazon said.

He said that while he is in isolation, he is in constant communication with officials of the city hall to continue the services.

City Administrator Allan Cachuela will temporarily supervise the day-to-day operations at the City Hall and Biazon said if there is something that needs his personal attention, he can do it while under home isolation.

“Kinalulungkot kong sabihin na lahat ng aking appointments ngayong linggo ay cancelled na habang ako ay naka-isolate (I am sad to say that all my appointments this week are cancelled while I am in isolation),” he said.

While he is positive for Covid-19, Biazon said his wife Trina, his children, and other people in his household tested negative, saying, “Mahigpit naming pinapatupad ang protocols sa bahay (We implement strict protocols at home).”

“Sa ngayon, hiling ko lang ang inyong prayers para sa agaran kong paggaling mula sa sakit na ito. (For now, I only request for your prayers for my immediate recovery from this illness),” he added.

He also reminded the public to follow health protocols including the wearing of face masks, disinfection or hand-washing, and staying away from crowded or congested places or activities.

On Aug. 14, Muntinlupa added 36 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total active cases to 203 out of 42,158 confirmed cases, 41,329 recoveries, and 626 deaths.
