The Bago City Police identified the victim as 58-year old Arturo Vicente who succumbed to a lone stab wound inflicted by his angry older brother Hernane, 65.

According to Police Master Sgt. Erwin Jamandre, case investigator of Bago City Police Station, the brothers had figured in a heated argument early in the day but was later settled.

In the afternoon, however, the brothers chanced upon each other and Hernane tried to avoid Arturo by running away, knowing the latter was under the influence of liquor, Jamandre said.

However, the victim chased Hernane until he caught up with the latter and challenged him into a fight.

Jamandre said that the brothers figured in another heated argument, until Hernane got irked and stabbed the victim.

Jamandre said the victim suffered a lone stab wound and was declared dead on arrival at a hospital.

Jamandre said Hernane later surrendered to the police, but his family refused to file charges against him.
