CDO rider dies in road accident in Misamis Oriental


ILIGAN CITY -- A well-known motorcycle rider from Cagayan de Oro City died after his motorcycle hit a canal wall in an accident that happened around 2 two O'clock in the morning on Saturday, August 13.

Police identified the rider as 29-year old Jireh Edrote Morales, a known rider who took part in endurance challenge in local circuits.

According to the report from the Lugait Police Station, Morales, a resident of Pabayo St. in Cagayan De Oro City, came from Iligan City where he participated in the Endurance Challenge going to Davao City.

Police said Morales died as a result of injuries he sustained in an accident while he was heading for Davao City.

The police investigators said the wheel of Morales’ motorcycle suddenly slipped and crashed into the canal wall in Purok Rizal, Barangay Poblacion Lugait Misamis Oriental.

Morales was taken to the Manticao Provincial hospital but was declared dead on arrival by Dr. Randi A. Ong due to the serious injuries.
