Taxi driver who harassed teenage passenger in Bacolod identified


BACOLOD CITY - The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has already identified the taxi driver who allegedly harassed his minor-passenger here on Wednesday.

Police Lt. Col. Sherlock Gabana, spokesperson of Bacolod City police, said charges for acts of lasciviousness are being readied by the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) against the taxi driver, whose name was withheld.

The taxi driver was traced after the 16-year-old victim, who was able to take a photo of the driver, reported the incident to the police on Thursday.

The victim shared on her social media account her experience with the taxi driver.

Her post went viral and garnered more than 9,000 shares, which also caught the attention of the authorities.

According to the victim, she rode a taxi to meet her friend last Wednesday.

She had a brief conversation with the driver, until the latter touched her lap, as shown in the videos and photos she posted on Facebook.

According to the victim, she tried to disembark from the taxi, but the driver insisted, until she was able to reach her destination.

The victim posted it on social media to give awareness to the public about the behavior of drivers.

She was sitting in the front seat when it happened.
